MemoryRouter is a memory infrastructure company. It builds the layer that lets your context — your role, your projects, your preferences, and the facts you have already explained — live in a vault you control and follow you across every AI assistant you connect.
The core idea is simple: memory should belong to you, not to whichever product you happened to type it into. When memory is portable, switching or combining AI tools stops meaning you start from a blank page every time.

The founder — John Rood
John Rood is the founder of MemoryRouter. He builds AI products and started MemoryRouter to solve a problem he kept hitting himself: the memory you give one AI assistant does not carry over to the next one. Every new tool meant re-explaining the same context from scratch.
MemoryRouter is his answer — portable, user-owned memory that works across the AI tools people actually use day to day. He leads product and engineering, and ships the open developer packages that connect MemoryRouter to other tools.
The product story
MemoryRouter started from a single frustration: memory that was locked inside each AI product. ChatGPT remembered things Claude never would, and vice versa. Moving between tools meant losing the context that made them useful.
So MemoryRouter flips the model. Your memory lives in one vault that you own, and any connected assistant can read and write to it with your approval. Teach it once, and the context shows up everywhere — no vendor lock-in, no re-explaining, no starting over.
